Dr. Theodore Wein MD, FRCPC, FAHA is an Assistant Professor of Neurology and Neurosurgery at McGill University where he works at the Stroke Prevention Clinic and is a William Osler Fellow. He completed his Neurology training at the Montreal Neurological Institute and went on to do his fellowship in Cerebrovascular Disease at the University of Texas – Houston. Dr. Wein is currently the co chair of the Canadian Stroke Prevention Guidelines and also sits on the Board of the Canadian Stroke Consortium where he heads the Policy and Advocacy committee focused on improving stroke care across Canada. Devoted to education Dr. Wein has chaired the annual American Heart Association International Stroke Conference pre-conference “stroke in the real world” and also sits on the steering Committee of the Canadian Stroke Congress. Dr. Wein is actively involved in stroke clinical trials and has a particular interest in stroke recovery and rehabilitation. He is lead author in the recently completed REFLEX trial looking at efficacy of botulinum toxin in treating post stroke spasticity.
